My research interests encompass both basic science and clinical outcomes research in adult reconstructive surgery, with a particular emphasis on improving the safety, durability, and value of hip and knee arthroplasty. During my fellowship at the Shiley Center for Orthopaedic Research and Education, my work focused on cartilage biology, biomechanics, implant wear, and computational modeling, leading to investigations of chondrocyte biomechanics, cartilage repair, implant alignment, and long-term implant performance. This foundational research established a strong scientific framework that continues to inform my clinical investigations.
My current research has evolved toward clinical outcomes, registry science, implementation of evidence-based care, and quality improvement in total joint arthroplasty. I have collaborated extensively using statewide registry data through MARCQI to study implant selection, revision risk, periprosthetic fractures, patient optimization, discharge pathways, and healthcare utilization. In parallel, I have participated in the development and dissemination of national clinical practice guidelines and systematic reviews through AAOS and AAHKS, helping translate high-quality evidence into everyday clinical practice.
